Well, at school we are all stuck with a set background, although when we log on it loads our background but covers it up with a desktop web item which is locked. They also have AB Tutor Control disabling most things along with the Windows policies to stop us using Display Properties, Registry Editor, msconfig, etc.

Does anyone know of any way that we could remove this web item from the desktop as its really quite a hideous stretched out image with the school logo on it. I am pretty sure that Command Prompt is still active.

man thats a good question.

2 solutions that "might" work would be to find a 3rd party portable regeditor, or maybe use dail-a-fix (look in the lower middle there should be a button that will do scan of the system for permissions and reset them.

Off hand I don't know much about the control system they are using and if it is a real-time monitor or not, if it is then these won't work. I'll keep the back brain thinking on this and post any other ideas that come to mind.

You will be lucky if you can install a third party anything as they lock school machine up tighter than a ducks bum.

I wish you the best of luck maybe you could talk to them into not stretching there logo but that will probably be about the only compromise.
